“WHAT MOTIVATES ME ARE THE CHILDREN”

Teacher Jules graduated Cum Laude when she earned her Bachelor of Child Development and Education degree at Miriam University (formerly Maryknoll College). She took on a Nursery teaching role at Xavier School thereafter while pursuing further studies.

The next chapter saw Jules getting marries and starting a family of her own. She subsequently earned additional stripes as a Preschool Teacher and in 2003 decided to found The Learning Connection with Teacher Hazel whom she worked with as a teaching partner.

Jules is a hobbyist who is always on the lookout for classes in cooking, sewing, macrame, and pottery. Like Teacher Hazel, she is blessed with a son and daughter, Gabe and Tanya, both pursuing their own passion and careers.

QUESTION AND ANSWER

What advice do you give parents in choosing a school for their Child?

I share our philosophy and take the time to show interested parents around the school when they inquire about TLC. Here they see first-hand; the excitement and oy in our students, the classroom set-up and learning centers that allow for different types of learning display of children’s work, materials and toys that age-appropriate, and clean and orderly facilities. I share that TLC encourages parental involvement and explain how our teachers show respect, enthusiasm, and love to children and fellow staff.

What motivates you to work every day?

The children are of course my primary motivation and inspiration. My day isn’t complete without visiting the classrooms and interacting with our students. Moreover, Teacher Hazel and I are always looking for ways to improve the academic aspects of our curriculum.  We also place equal emphasis on school activities, which I can proudly attest are original and unique to TLC!
