HAZEL GAN GO

Directress

HAZEL ALWAYS HAD A KNACK FOR TEACHING.

Hazel’s teachers at the Immaculate Conception Academy saw in her the values and traits of an educator and told her that she ought to consider making a career out of it.

Teacher Hazel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Legal Management and dipped her toes in the corporate world, but she eventually found her way back to the field of education. She completed her Master of Basic Education also from Ateneo de Manila University and pursued the innovations and advocacies in her teaching philosophy when she founded The Learning Connection with Teacher Jules.

With over 20 years of experience in education, Hazel is both idealist and eternal optimist – a combination that she finds ideal for working with young children. At TLC, she focusses on curriculum and faculty development, marketing, and events, while co-directress Jules heads up operations and logistics.

Teacher Hazel is a Mother to Sam and Kate, and considers herself fortunate to wear two hats as educator and entrepreneur at TLC, adding “There has never been a day that I don’t look forward to going to work, I never take this for granted.”

QUESTION AND ANSWER

What's the story behind "Children First"?

“Children First” sums up TLC’s philosophy in a nutshell. After celebrating our school’s 15th anniversary. I felt it was important for my teachers and staff to constantly remind one another why we do what we do and what is our foremost consideration. Sharing and advocating our philosophy is also our goal. We believe in educating families about child-centered education and why it is important for parents to be involved in their child’s formative years.
